Honey Glow™ is a company based in the DC metro area that makes skin and personal care products based on beeswax and other natural ingredients. The company was not even a gleam in our eyes when we obtained our first honeybee hive in 2007. My husband and daughter were concerned about the decline in honeybees due to colony collapse disorder, and they wanted to work together to raise honeybees.

During our research on honeybees, we discovered the healthful benefits of honey and beeswax, and we were surprised by their many healing factors. During our first year of beekeeping, our daughter made a lip balm from natural ingredients and gave them out to her friends. She had many positive replies from her gifts and that was our inspiration!

As an avid gardener, I have had many bouts with dry, cracked skin on my hands, which was the motivation for creating our Honey Glow™ Hand Salve (a Maker’s Mate!). I have been overjoyed with how well our hand salve provides relief. I went on to make a goat’s milk body lotion that is full of vitamins and nutrients and is free of potentially harmful ingredients, such as parabens, alcohol, and petroleum.

Our family wants to share all our products with you so you can also experience the benefits of the bees and natural ingredients. We have grown our hives ten-fold now and our youngest son has gotten involved with the business also.

We look forward to spreading the word about the magic of honeybees and the importance of nature and a healthy eco-system. Part of our mission statement includes educating our community about honeybees. We work with the local  PTA and Beta club as a group effort to teach the students about organic gardening and how important the honeybees are to the kid’s food supply.  Honey Glow™ is a board member of our town's Green Team providing educational events to our community.
